An Independent Christian Software Studio

Pews & Pixels

Software for the church, made with care. Apps for Christians who want to read, hear, and remember the Word.

Read. Hear. Remember.

The Thesis

Three apps for three things Christians have always done. Read. Hear. Remember. Each one built to help connect you with the Word of God.

Why We Build

To help people connect with the Word of God.

I’m Pete, an Associate Pastor in the UK who builds software in the evenings. Pews & Pixels is what happens when those two parts of my life sit down together.

I built these apps for myself first. I wanted to actually slow down when I read scripture instead of scrolling past it. I wanted to remember what I’d heard on a Sunday and act on it through the week. And I wanted to learn verses with my family in a way that didn’t feel like homework. It turned out plenty of other people wanted the same things.

The vision is simple: build careful tools that help Christians connect with the Word of God and equip the Church. Not platforms. Not ecosystems. Not the next big thing. Just useful apps, priced fairly, made with care, that help equip the Church and keep the Word at the centre of daily life.

Three apps now. More on the way. All built quietly, in evenings and on Sundays, by someone who actually uses them.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

Psalm 119:105

What We Believe

  • Scripture first.

Everything we build leads people back to the Word.

  • Disciplines over downloads.

We’re here to help you build daily habits that last.

  • Equipping the Church.

The Church gets stronger when its people know the Word. That’s the aim.

  • Innovation that serves faith.

New ideas earn their place by helping you meet God, not by being clever.

One Word · Live on iOS & Android

Scripture, one word at a time.

Most Bible apps help you read more, faster. One Word helps you read less, deeper.

Demo of One Word’s reading mode. The verse shown one word at a time is John 1:1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
The actual reading mechanic, running right here. One word, at your pace, attention settled.
One Word reading mode: the word ‘Spirit’ alone on a black screen, its focus letter in red, John 3:34 below. Guided Breath Prayer: ‘Be still. God is with you.’ above a slowly breathing circle. Guided Prayer topics: Anxiety, Peace, Fear, Trust, Hope, Forgiveness, Grief, Joy, Identity. Daily Reflection: End the day well — a few minutes to bring your day before God. One Word home: Read, Reflect, Pray — Bible Reading, Prayer Mode and Daily Reflection.

Be still.

God is with you.
